1000 Books Before Kindergarten Sign Up Day – All Locations

Join us at any Dorchester County Library for our 1000 Books Sign-Up Day as we embark on a mission to close the literacy gap one child at a time. 📚✨ Did you know that 57% of Tri-County children are deemed ‘not ready’ when starting kindergarten? Let’s change that statistic together!
Our drop-in style event welcomes parents and guardians to sign up any child 5 years old and younger for our ‘1000 Books Before Kindergarten’ program, in partnership with @tridentunitedway, @berklibsc, and @chascolibrary. Each young reader will receive an awesome goodie bag to kickstart their reading journey (while supplies last)!
After registering, keep track of the books you read with the provided reading logs, or online with Beanstack* (also available on the App Store & Google Play). Register for Beanstack at the link in our bio!
From there your child will :
-Receive a sticker & bookmark for every 100 books you read.
-Receive a goodie bag for completing 500 books.
-Receive a certificate and free book for finishing 1000 books!!
*Note: If you previously used Survey Monkey and want to continue logging online, then please register for Beanstack. No worries though, your progress isn’t lost! Just log the number of books your child has already completed in Beanstack and continue from there (Note: Beanstack limits the number of books you can log at a time to 100, but you can just log back-to-back until you’re caught up).
